Terms and Conditions
These terms govern your use of this website and any purchase you make from LarpLife. By placing an order you confirm that you accept them. Please read section 4 and section 9 carefully — they set out what we are and are not responsible for.
1. Who we are
LarpLife ("we", "us") operates this website and sells digital directory products. You can reach us using the contact details at the end of these terms.
2. What you are buying
We sell access to a research directory. Each product is a digital file listing vendor names and the web addresses of third-party sellers who offer that type of item. Nothing more is included.
We do not manufacture, stock, hold, inspect, ship or sell any physical product. We never take possession of anything you go on to order.
3. No affiliation with any brand
LarpLife is entirely independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or licensed by any brand, manufacturer, retailer or rights holder named anywhere on this site or in any file we supply.
Brand names appear only to describe, factually, what a third-party seller lists. All trade marks and trade names remain the property of their respective owners.
4. Third-party suppliers — our role ends at the link
This is the most important term in this agreement.
Every link we supply points to a marketplace or seller that we do not own, operate, control, vet or have any relationship with. If you follow a link and place an order, you enter a contract directly with that seller, on their terms, under their jurisdiction.
Accordingly, we accept no responsibility and no liability whatsoever for any of the following:
- Whether an order is accepted, fulfilled, part-fulfilled or cancelled
- Delivery, non-delivery, delay, loss or damage in transit
- The quality, condition, safety, description, sizing or fitness for purpose of anything supplied
- Pricing, currency conversion, payment failures or seller-side fraud
- Customs inspection, duties, import VAT, handling fees, seizure or destruction of goods
- Refunds, replacements, warranty or after-sales service from that seller
- A seller changing its listings, raising prices, closing, or ceasing to trade
- Any dispute of any kind between you and a seller
All such matters are between you and the third-party seller. We cannot intervene, mediate, chase, compensate or refund in respect of them, and we are under no obligation to try.
5. Description, authenticity and your own checks
We list what third-party sellers offer. We do not inspect goods and we make no representation or warranty of any kind as to the authenticity, provenance, licensing status or legality of anything a third-party seller supplies. Nothing on this site should be read as a statement that any item is genuine, official or authorised.
You are solely responsible for satisfying yourself, before you order and before you do anything further with an item, that:
- it is lawful for you to buy, import, possess and use where you live;
- it is lawful for you to do anything else you intend to do with it; and
- you have taken your own advice where you are unsure.
Intellectual-property, consumer-safety, customs and trading-standards law differ between countries and change over time. Complying with the law that applies to you is your responsibility alone, and you accept full responsibility for your own decisions and their consequences.
6. Your licence to use the directory
On payment you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the file for your own reference.
You may not resell, sub-licence, republish, distribute, share, post, scrape, or otherwise make the contents available to anyone else, in whole or in part, whether free or for payment. The directory is our compiled work and remains our property. Breach of this term ends your licence immediately.
7. Price and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include any tax applied at checkout. Payment is processed by Shopify and, where applicable, its payment partners. We do not receive or store your card details.
We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order already placed.
8. Delivery of your file
Delivery is digital and immediate. Your file is made available on the order confirmation page and by a link in your emailed receipt as soon as payment clears. Nothing is posted, and no delivery address is required.
If your file does not arrive or will not open, contact us and we will re-issue it.
9. Cancellation and refunds
Because the directory is digital content delivered immediately, all sales are final.
When you complete checkout you expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that, on doing so, you lose the statutory 14-day right to cancel that would otherwise apply to digital content under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. We rely on that acknowledgement.
We therefore do not offer refunds, exchanges or credits, including where:
- you change your mind, or bought the wrong category;
- a third-party seller disappoints you in any way described in section 4;
- a link stops working after purchase (see section 10);
- you decide the directory is not useful to you.
The one exception is a genuine fault in what we supplied — the file did not arrive, will not open, is not the product described, or you were charged twice. Tell us within a reasonable period and we will put it right, by re-supply or refund. This reflects rights you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that cannot be excluded, and nothing in these terms affects those rights or your other statutory rights.
10. Links change
Every destination is a third-party address outside our control. Links may move, expire or stop working at any time without notice. We refresh the directory periodically and give buyers updated files for their category, but we do not warrant that any particular link works at any particular time, and a broken third-party link is not a fault in our product.
11. Acceptable use
You agree not to use this site or the directory unlawfully, not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, and not to do anything that damages it or impairs its availability. We may suspend or refuse service where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken.
12. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for any loss arising from your dealings with third-party sellers (section 4) or from your own decisions about legality and use (section 5);
- we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, wasted expenditure, or any indirect or consequential loss; and
- our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you actually paid us for the product the claim relates to.
This site and the directory are supplied "as is". We give no warranty that the directory will meet your requirements or produce any particular result.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version published here when you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
14. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your home nation.
15. Contact
Questions about these terms, or about an order, should be sent to our customer support email address, which is shown on your order confirmation and on every receipt we send. We aim to reply within a few working days.
